The tournament format is a “doubles team tennis” round robin. Pickleball

NEW THIS YEAR… We are adding a “Team Pickleball Event” to the 2022 MCTI. This new addition will allow pickleball players of all ages and levels the chance to play our traditional “team” round robin format but on the 16 pickleball courts we will have that weekend. You and your doubles partner will be placed on a team of 8 players and you will play a total of 7 matches over the two days.

The format for both pickleball and tennis is a "TEAM" round robin. For tennis men's, women's and mixed doubles teams play in a round robin with modified scoring where every game won helps their overall "divisional teams" standing. Divisional teams consist of up to 8 players (3-4 doubles teams) and are matched based on NTRP ability levels. For pickleball the same men’s, women’s and mixed doubles teams play in a round robin with modified scoring where every point won helps your overall “divisional teams” standing.

Players and Doubles Teams

You can register to play in the MCTI event with or without a doubles partner. If you do not have a doubles partner for either pickleball or tennis then we will work to find someone of a similar ability for you. Doubles teams are arranged on "divisional teams" once again based on ability levels and needs. The goal is to make the overall divisional teams and experience fun for everyone.

MCTI Tennis Pro-Am

Join us for a great opportunity to play tennis with a local tennis professional and support a fantastic local charity while being a part of the Music City Tennis Invitational. Here is how it works... Recreational players of any and all ability levels register to play and will be partnered up with a local tennis professional. Teams will play in a round robin format from 3:00-5:00pm on Friday, May 27th, 2022, using modified scoring. Each player receives a special gift for participating and winners in each division will receive awards. Space is very limited to only 24 amateur players.

Two-Day Pickleball or Tennis Tournament

Corporate sponsorship packages automatically include players in the Two- Day Tournament. The two day event will continue as usual with players and teams being matched according to ability levels and will continue to use a round robin doubles format. Play will run from 8:00-4:00 on Saturday and 9:00-3:00 on Sunday. Please be available to play during those times each day with your team.

Great Fun, Great Cause

It’s not just playing tennis, you’re making friends and getting involved with a great cause. It’ll be the most fun you’ve ever had!
